Israeli Occupation Seizes 70 Dunums of Land in Nablus, West Bank

Nablus: Israeli occupation authorities have seized some 70 dunums of land from several Palestinian villages in Nablus, West Bank.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission stated in a press release on Monday that the occupation authorities confiscated 70 dunums and 147 square meters (one dunum equals 1,000 square meters) by issuing a “seizure order” for military and security purposes on lands in the villages of Qaryut, East Al-Lubban, and Al-Sawiya in Nablus Governorate.

The Commission explained that the purpose of the seizure is to establish a buffer zone around the settlement of “Eli”, noting that the order “allows for objections within a week from its issuance date; however, the date indicated on the military order is September 21, meaning the occupation authorities published the order after the objection period already expired.”

The Commission added that, since the beginning of 2025, the Israeli occupation authorities issued a total of 53 “seizure orders” for various military purposes, reflecting a notable intensification in the use of such orders to control Palestinian lands.

It noted that Israeli occupation authorities have seized 55,000 dunums and established 25 buffer zones around settlements over the past two years.
