Israeli Forces Advance into Southern Syrian Villages

Doha: Israeli occupation forces stormed Sunday the villages of Maariyah and Al-Arda in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa countryside, southern Syria.

According to Qatar News Agency, consisting of three military vehicles and a bulldozer, Israeli occupation forces entered the two villages during the early morning hours, opened a road, and established a military checkpoint inside Al-Arda village. Local sources reported that Israeli forces also dropped leaflets warning residents against blocking roads or obstructing the movement of Israeli military vehicles.

In Quneitra countryside, an Israeli reconnaissance vehicle advanced into Al-Maakar area, west of the village of Saida Al-Hanout, amid drone activity over the area. Israel continues to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through its incursions into southern Syria, assaulting civilians through raids and arrests, bulldozing land, and shelling.

Syria calls on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and compel Israel to withdraw completely from southern Syria.
