Iraq: Passenger Traffic Returns to Shalamcheh Border Crossing with Iran

Doha: Iraqi authorities announced on Saturday the return of passenger traffic to normal at the Shalamcheh border crossing with Iran.

According to Qatar News Agency, Head of the Border Ports Authority Lieutenant General Omar Al Waeli stated that passenger traffic at the Shalamcheh border crossing has returned to normal. The announcement comes after an earlier suspension of trade and passenger traffic due to an attack targeting the passenger terminal on the Iranian side, which resulted in the death of one Iraqi passenger and injuries to five others.
