The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Affairs and Legal Affairs, Omar Al-Barzanji, received the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Republic of Iraq, Maurizio Griganti, in his office at the Ministry's headquarters, today, Sunday.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that during the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Iraq and Italy, issues of common interest and coordination with regard to cooperation in the field of exchanging candidacy support in international forums and organizations, such as the membership of the Executive Council of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the Executive Council of the Maritime Organization IMO, the re-election of Italian Professor Stefania Bariati to the Board of Directors of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), as well as Italy's candidacy to host (EXPO 2030) along with Saudi Arabia and South Korea.
