The Head of the Europe Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Haidar Al-Athari, discussed with the Greek Ambassador Georgios Almanos the recent violations by burning the Holy Quran in Sweden and Denmark.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "Ambassador Al-Athari met with the Greek ambassador at the ministry's headquarters, and during the meeting, a number of issues of common interest and ways to develop aspects of cooperation between the two countries were discussed, expressing his readiness to provide all possible facilities that facilitate the work of the embassy in Baghdad."
According to the statement, the two sides discussed the recent violations of the burning of the Holy Quran in Sweden and Denmark, stressing the need to respect the heavenly religions.
For his part, the Greek ambassador indicated that his country's government respects all monotheistic religions and does not allow such violations.
