Indonesia’s president-elect confirms his country’s readiness to send peacekeeping forces to Gaza

Indonesian President-elect Prabowo Subianto confirmed his country's readiness to send peacekeeping forces to implement a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, if necessary. Prabowo said in his speech during the Shangri-La Forum, the largest security forum in Asia, which is held in Singapore, that US President Joe Biden's proposal yesterday, Friday, regarding a ceasefire in Gaza is 'a step in the right direction.' The elected President of Indonesia, the largest Muslim country in terms of population, called for a comprehensive investigation into the events that took place in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, in the recent period, especially what became known as the 'Camps Massacre,' in which dozens of Palestinians were killed and wounded in an Israeli bombing of one of the displacement camps. Prabowo, who will officially assume the presidency next October, confirmed that his country is ready to receive and treat up to a thousand injured Palestinians from Gaza. The Asia Security and Defense Forum continues in Singapore over a period of 3 days in the presence of heads of states overlooking the Indian and Pacific Oceans, army commanders and defense ministers.
