HH the Amir’s Visit to Jordan Highlights Strong Bilateral Ties and Unified Regional Stance

Amman: The visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Jordan underscores the enduring historic ties between the two countries, marking a critical political and diplomatic moment. This follows the conclusion of the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, as highlighted by Jordanian experts.

According to Qatar News Agency, the visit is significant in the context of joint Arab action and alignment on pressing regional issues. It has been well-received in Jordanian political and parliamentary circles, with experts considering it a strategic milestone that strengthens cooperation between Amman and Doha. This visit reflects the flourishing Qatar-Jordan relationship, which has developed across various stages.

The visit takes place against the backdrop of Jordanian appreciation expressed by HM King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein during the summit in Doha, presenting a comprehensive vision toward the threats facing Arab security. Senator Khawla Armouti, Chair of the Jordan-Qatar Parliamentary Friendship Committee, noted that the visit conveys a political message of convergence between the two nations, highlighting their unified perspective on regional threats, particularly the Israeli escalation and violations in Gaza and other Arab regions.

Qatar and Jordan are aligned in defending Arab rights, with their coordination extending beyond diplomatic channels to influence regional and global platforms, especially concerning the Palestinian cause, Armouti remarked.

Awni Al Zoubi, Chairman of the Jordanian-Qatari Parliamentary Brotherhood Committee in the House of Representatives, emphasized to QNA that the visit is a pivotal moment in the robust bilateral relations. It occurs amid unprecedented regional challenges, underscoring the importance of Qatar-Jordan coordination.

Al Zoubi highlighted that the relationship is founded on a shared vision for Arab security and economic integration in human rights issues. He noted promising cooperation projects in energy, education, and investment sectors, with the visit expected to enhance these initiatives.

Dr. Khaldoun Naseer, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Jordan Economic Forum, stated that the visit comes at a crucial regional time with escalating security risks and a deteriorating humanitarian situation, particularly in the Palestinian territories. He emphasized the effective presence of Qatar and Jordan in the Arab political scene, driven by balanced postures and constructive initiatives serving the Arab nation’s interests.

Dr. Naseer noted that the visit reaffirms the strong bilateral relationship and the necessity for unified Arab action grounded in political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation. The collaboration between Jordan and Qatar forms a political front advocating for Arab rights and regional stability and development.

He explained the growing economic and investment alignment, supported by legal frameworks and bilateral agreements, which present substantial opportunities for advancing productive, technological, and educational sectors, promoting joint investment and expertise exchange.

Observers view the Qatar-Jordan relationship as a successful model of Arab cooperation based on mutual respect and shared interests, reinforced by long-standing political, cultural, and humanitarian bonds. The visit reaffirms this shared legacy and the aspiration for joint action focusing on sustainable development, regional security, and genuine Arab solidarity.
