HH the Amir: Qatar Was Subjected to Two Condemned and Denounced Violations of Its Sovereignty

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani stated that Qatar has been subjected to two condemned and denounced violations of its sovereignty, first by Iran and then by Israel. In the latter incident, the aggression targeted a residential neighborhood, aiming at members of the Hamas negotiating delegation. Six people were martyred in the bombing: one Qatari citizen and five Palestinian brothers.

According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir made these remarks during his speech at the opening of the first regular session of the second legislative term of the Shura Council, corresponding to its 54th annual session. He emphasized that the entire world condemned both attacks, and Qatar emerged from these incidents stronger and more resilient.

HH the Amir highlighted that Israel, through its aggression against a mediating State and its attempt to assassinate members of a negotiating delegation, violated all laws and norms governing relations between nations. His Highness asserted, “We have considered this aggression as state terrorism. The global response was so strong that it shocked those who perpetrated it.”

He also pointed to the unanimous UN Security Council statement condemning the aggression and the commendation expressed by all its members, without exception, for Qatar’s mediation role.
