HH the Amir Commends Nations Recognizing Palestine for Upholding Justice

New york: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani applauded nations that have recognized the State of Palestine, stating that such recognition carries profound symbolic significance by conveying a clear message that violence cannot erase a just cause like that of Palestine.

According to Qatar News Agency, in his address at the opening session of the 80th United Nations General Assembly at the UN headquarters in New York, HH the Amir urged the remaining countries to recognize the State of Palestine. He highlighted the moral value of these recognitions, emphasizing that they affirm the message that force cannot extinguish a legitimate national aspiration.

“We treasure the role of the states that recognized the State of Palestine. These recognitions undoubtedly carry moral significance since they convey a message saying that violence and excessive use of violence will not succeed in eliminating a just cause such as the Palestinian cause. We call upon all the other states to recognize the state of Palestine,” His Highness stated.

His Highness further remarked that the State of Qatar, believing that instability knows no boundaries and that humanity’s destiny is interconnected, has persistently engaged in diplomatic efforts to address other crises, including the war in Ukraine and conflicts in Africa.

He noted that Qatar’s collaborative efforts with its African partners have resulted in significant strides toward peace, notably the signing in Doha of a Declaration of Principles between the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Congo River Alliance/March 23 Movement. This initiative supports a US-led process toward a comprehensive peace agreement in eastern Congo. Sheikh Tamim reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to remaining an active international partner in resolving disputes peacefully and advancing global peace.
