Gold Retreats From Two-Week High as Oil Prices Rise

Gold prices retreated on thursday from their highest level in two weeks:old prices retreated on Thursday from their highest level in two weeks, amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and rising oil prices. Spot gold settled at $4,132.01 per ounce after rising to $4,165.87 in the previous session, its highest level since July 7. US gold futures for August delivery fell 0.4 percent to $4,134.60.

According to Qatar News Agency, among other precious metals, spot silver rose 0.3 percent to $59.90 per ounce, while platinum climbed 0.7 percent to $1,656.24, and palladium gained 0.8 percent to $1,301.25.
