Manama: The General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority recently took part in a training workshop focusing on “skills of dealing with the media through insurance and media campaigns.” This event was organized by the Social Insurance Organization (SIO) in the Kingdom of Bahrain from November 25 to 27. The workshop aimed to strengthen joint cooperation among civil retirement and social insurance agencies across the GCC countries.
According to Qatar News Agency, the workshop was specifically designed for professionals working in media and communication within retirement and social insurance agencies. Participants received training on effective media communication strategies, the preparation of specialized media campaigns in the retirement and social insurance sector, and the exploration of modern practices for engaging with the public through various media channels.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by civil retirement and social insurance agencies in the GCC to promote integration, share exper
tise, and develop media personnel. The goal is to enhance the agencies’ abilities to create and execute innovative awareness campaigns that cater to the needs of the Gulf public, emphasizing the role of insurance media in spreading awareness about social insurance and retirement systems.
The General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority’s involvement in the workshop underscores its commitment to advancing media capabilities and implementing creative awareness campaigns that benefit the community. This aligns with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, which emphasizes human and social development, as well as the provision of advanced services to both subscribers and retirees.
GCC civil retirement and social insurance agencies also conduct an annual unified media campaign to promote awareness of the unified system for extending insurance protection. This campaign runs concurrently across GCC agencies, helping to standardize media messages and boost community understanding of the system.
The campa
ign’s goals include improving public interaction and delivering information regarding registration processes, subscription payment rules, and insurance benefits for Gulf citizens working abroad. It highlights the system’s importance in fostering stability and safeguarding rights for those employed in GCC countries.
