London: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi met with Liam Byrne, Chair of the International Trade Committee in the United Kingdom Parliament, to discuss key issues of mutual interest.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the meeting, the Secretary-General highlighted the significant role legislative institutions play in bolstering economic and trade cooperation between nations. He emphasized the historical ties between the GCC and the UK and noted the continuous growth in their relationship across multiple sectors.
The discussions also focused on the progress of free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations between the GCC and the UK. Both parties are aiming to finalize a comprehensive agreement that will serve mutual interests and expand economic and investment integration, thus strengthening the strategic partnership between the two regions.
