GCC Secretary-General, Chinese FM Explore Bilateral Ties, Regional and Global Issues

Doha: The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, met on Sunday with Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi to discuss ways to enhance GCC-China relations and cooperation, as well as the progress of negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), in preparation for its signing in the coming period. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues.

According to Qatar News Agency, Albudaiwi praised China's supportive stance on the Palestinian cause, which contributes to enabling the brotherly Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights. For his part, Yi valued the regional and international positions of the GCC states and their support for China on numerous issues of mutual interest.
