New york: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, engaged in talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in the United States. The discussions centered around strengthening bilateral relations between the GCC and Pakistan.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing Gulf-Pakistan relations and exploring avenues for development and strengthening in alignment with the Joint Action Plan 2022-2026. A significant point of discussion was the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) that was initialed on September 28, 2023.
Additionally, the two leaders exchanged views on regional developments, particularly concerning the actions of Israeli occupation forces against Palestinians in Gaza and other occupied territories, and the implications of these actions on Middle East security and stability.
