Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, received a telephone call from Pakistani Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Ishaq Dar to discuss the Iranian aggressions against the Council states.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, the two sides discussed the situation in the region and the developments that have impacted security, stability, and the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the states. Dar emphasized Pakistan's condemnation of these aggressions and reiterated its rejection of any actions that would destabilize the security of the GCC states or threaten the safety of their peoples.
Albudaiwi highlighted that GCC-Pakistani relations are based on historical ties and firm foundations. He noted that Pakistan's supportive stance toward the security and stability of the GCC states is rooted in these relations.
Both sides stressed the necessity of an immediate cessation of Iranian military operations against the GCC states and an end to all forms of escalation that would disrupt regional security and stability. They underscored the importance of respecting the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and to safeguard regional peace and stability.
