Abu dhabi: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi affirmed that the Council's member states, guided by the wise directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC, attach the utmost importance to the Gulf child as a fundamental cornerstone in the construction of societies and the architecture of the future.
According to Qatar News Agency, these remarks were delivered during Albudaiwi's speech on the occasion of Gulf Children's Day, celebrated annually on the 15th of January. He stated that the Council states are deeply committed to family affairs across all demographics, noting that Their Majesties and Highnesses the GCC leaders have previously directed studies to mitigate the negative impacts of certain media outlets on the youth.
He noted that the Statistical Center for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf has launched special booklets for children in the field of statistics, presenting Gulf figures and data in a smooth and objective manner that aligns with the targeted age group, with the aim of instilling a sense of belonging to Gulf unity among children. He also pointed to the challenges facing families worldwide in light of digital and technological openness, which directly affects societal stability.
He highlighted that, from this standpoint, GCC countries have intensified their efforts to raise awareness among children, youth, and families about the proper use of technology, and to reinforce the concepts of citizenship and Gulf identity. In addition, they place great emphasis on children's education by providing essential services in their schools free of charge.
