Brussels: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, engaged in a telephone discussion with Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission.
According to Qatar News Agency, the conversation focused on the latest preparations for the forthcoming 2nd GCC-EU Summit, in addition to related subjects. The dialogue also covered the progress of implementing outcomes from the inaugural GCC-EU Summit and the mechanisms for their execution, which are aimed at enhancing strategic relations between the GCC and the EU.
Both parties expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming 2nd GCC-EU Summit, considering it a pivotal strategic event to further strengthen the partnership between the GCC and the EU. They underscored the significance of sustaining collaborative efforts and building upon the achievements and initiatives since the 1st summit to solidify cooperation in various priority areas.
The discussion underscored that these efforts mirror the depth of historical connections between the GCC and the EU, promoting development and prosperity for their populations while supporting security, stability, and peace on both regional and international levels.
