Finance Ministry: The budget law falls under the exclusive responsibility of Parliament

The Ministry of Finance confirmed that the budget law falls under the responsibility of Parliament exclusively, and that it is not concerned with making amendments to the law.

The Ministry stated in a statement: It is clear to the Ministry that some MPs, during their visits to the Ministry, raised narrow and limited issues that do not reflect a real desire for the national interest, and are thus far from the topics that are being talked about and raised to the media, which is a manifestation of gaining sympathy of the public and the illusion of public opinion about issues that have nothing to do with reality.

It expressed its astonishment at the statements spread on social media by some MPs who make them after their visits to the Ministry by claiming to raise a group of important national issues, especially discussions related to budget items to achieve the public interest.

In its statement, the Ministry affirmed that it is not responsible for the inaccurate information and statements issued by some MPs after the end of the visits to the Ministry, in addition to that it is not concerned with making amendments to the budget law because the project is currently exclusively under the responsibility of the House of Representatives.

It called on all media outlets to take into account objectivity and professionalism in tracking information and verifying it from official sources known to all./ End
