Gaza: The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor warned Friday of the catastrophic consequences of the sharp escalation and genocide committed by the Israeli entity against Palestinian civilians in Gaza, particularly through its intensification of mass killings of civilians across the Strip. The monitor called on the international community to halt these crimes.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, the monitor stressed that the escalation is taking place in the complete absence of any form of accountability or international deterrence. It noted that, in the past four days alone, it has documented the killing of more than 350 Palestinians and the injury of hundreds, along with a rising number of missing persons.
This comes amid a widespread escalation of attacks targeting the remaining homes, areas crowded with forcibly displaced civilians, and limited humanitarian aid distribution centers. It pointed out that more than 70 Palestinians have been killed since dawn today, half of them while waiting for or trying to receive food aid, stressing that this pattern of attacks represents further evidence of the occupation’s deliberate use of starvation as a weapon of genocide.
It noted that the resumption of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since March 18, following the violation of the ceasefire agreement, has resulted in the deaths of more than 5,400 Palestinians, the majority of whom were civilians, including large numbers of women and children. It said that aid distribution centers, which are supposed to be safe havens for civilians, have been transformed into death traps, as the occupation army targets the surrounding civilian communities as the famine worsens, causing an increasing number of victims who are simply trying to survive.
