EU Foreign Policy Chief Urges Diplomatic Solution on Iran Nuclear Issue

Brussels: The European Union's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, has called for a diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear issue ahead of anticipated talks between Tehran and Washington. Speaking to reporters before a meeting of EU foreign ministers at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels on Monday, Kallas emphasized the need to avoid a new conflict in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, Kallas highlighted the importance of preventing another war in the Middle East, citing the numerous existing conflicts. She expressed concern that further hostilities would exacerbate regional instability. Kallas urged for de-escalation through dialogue as Iran and the United States prepare for upcoming discussions on Tehran's nuclear program.

The second round of negotiations was conducted last Tuesday in Geneva, following an earlier round in Muscat on February 6. The talks aim to address and resolve tensions surrounding Iran's nuclear activities, seeking a peaceful resolution to ongoing disputes.
