Erdogan Meets Zelenskyy In Istanbul

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met this evening, Friday, with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in Istanbul.

After Erdogan received his Ukrainian counterpart at Wahideddin Palace, they moved to a closed bilateral meeting.

The two presidents are scheduled to discuss relations between the two countries, developments in the Russian-Ukrainian war, and regional and international issues, including the grain corridor agreement across the Black Sea, which ends on July 17.

The two presidents will preside over a delegation-level meeting following their bilateral meeting, and will hold a press conference afterwards.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Istanbul this afternoon, on a working visit, at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Zelenskyy said in a press statement that he will discuss with the Turkish president several files, including coordinating positions on the Ukrainian peace formula, the NATO summit, and security guarantees.

The two presidents will also discuss the grain transfer agreement, reconstruction in Ukraine, and defense industry cooperation agreements between Turkish and Ukrainian companies.

Zelenskyy visited the Czech Republic on Thursday, and he visited Slovakia earlier today, Friday.
