Egyptian President Discusses Gaza Agreement Developments with Cypriot Counterpart

Doha: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call Saturday with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides to discuss the latest developments in the Middle East, with a particular focus on the recently concluded agreement in Sharm El Sheikh to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, El-Sisi discussed the key aspects and details of the agreement, emphasizing its significance in halting the war, securing the release of hostages and detainees, facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid, and initiating the reconstruction of Gaza.

He stressed the importance of fully implementing the agreement’s provisions, noting that Egypt had exerted continuous efforts over the past two years, coordinating with Qatar and the United States, to bring an end to the conflict and alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people.

For his part, Christodoulides expressed Cyprus’s full support for the agreement and its implementation.
