Egyptian President and Iraqi PM Discuss Regional Security and Bilateral Ties

Cairo: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi discussed regional developments and enhancing the bilateral relationship in a telephone conversation on Sunday with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al Zaidi. Both sides explored boosting efforts to safeguard the sovereignty of Arab nations in the wake of ongoing regional challenges, to preserve the resources and security of those nations and their security.

According to Qatar News Agency, El Sisi underscored that Egypt backs Iraq's security and stability, stressing the importance of shielding Iraq from any regional conflicts that could impact its stability, a perspective that received praise from Al Zaidi.

For his part, Al Zaidi underlined that Iraq is committed to persistently advancing the bilateral relationship with Egypt, including areas of commerce and investment, as well as lending impetus to the existing political coordination between the two nations in terms of a variety of regional and international issues of shared concern.
