Egyptian Deputy PM Highlights Strong Egypt-Qatar Cooperation and Joint Efforts for Gaza Peace

Doha: HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar praised the cooperation between Egypt and Qatar, focusing on their joint efforts to end the war on the Gaza Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar made these remarks during the Sixth Session of the Qatari-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee. He emphasized the longstanding and fruitful relationship between the two nations, which is marked by mutual visits and high-level meetings, demonstrating robust collaboration across multiple sectors.

Dr. Abdel Ghaffar noted that the health sector sees significant cooperation, with a protocol set to be signed in Doha at the end of September. This agreement aims to enhance collaboration in health-related fields, including the exchange of medical professionals and preparation for future pandemics.

He also mentioned that the cooperation extends beyond government relations to the people of Egypt and Qatar, who share historical ties. Describing the countries as key players in resolving the Gaza crisis, he highlighted their coordinated efforts since the events began on October 7, 2023.

The Sixth Session of the Qatari-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee was chaired by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani for Qatar, and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdelatty for Egypt.
