H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Chairman of the Education and Human Resources Council, has affirmed that UAE is a global hub to the art and cultural movement and a beacon of cross-cultural understanding.
“The UAE is exhibiting a special interest in the field of art and culture, which lies in the heart of the country’s priorities to groom young talent well versed with various world cultures in a way that unleashes their potential and build up their capacities,” Sheikh Abdullah said as he headed the council’s meeting at the Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, Hessa Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, demonstrated the ‘Mashaghel’ initiative, launched to integrate People of Determination by ensuring their employment through workshops organised within a competitive work environment to grow their social, behavioural and professional skills.
The initiative is part of the national policy for empowering people of determination, aimed to create an inclusive society for them and their families, through services and facilities that accommodate their needs.
For his part, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism � Abu Dhabi and Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, presented the department’s programmes being implemented in cooperation with the Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi.
He spoke about including the teaching of arts and music at the kindergarten and high school levels, adding that the talent development programme is aimed to motivate and embrace gifted students across various fields, include graphics and performing arts.
Sheikh Abdullah directed deploying the programme nationwide and underlined the importance of ensuring coordination between the ministries of Culture and Knowledge Development and Education.
The meeting was attended by Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Hessa Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, Jameela Al Muheiri, Minister of State for Public Education, Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education and Advanced Skills, Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Sciences.
Also attending were Sara Awad Mussalam, Chairperson of Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge and Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al Krama, Director General of Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority.
