Cairo: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the Department of Private Schools and Kindergartens, in cooperation with the Tarbeya Center for Future Leaders, held the closing ceremony of the “My Values Shape My Identity” project for the 2024-2025 academic year. The event was held under the patronage of HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater. The ceremony was attended by key officials including HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, and Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs, Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama, alongside several ministry officials, school principals, and representatives from participating ministries and bodies.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry stated that the “My Values Shape My Identity” project aims to enhance national identity and preserve community customs and traditions, emphasizing values of belonging to the homeland. It also focuses on raising awareness about digital safety, privacy, and security while online. The project educates students on physical and psychological health deterrents, protects them from surrounding dangers, promotes the understanding of human nature, shields against intrusive cultural influences, and ensures a safe, bullying-free environment based on respect and tolerance among students.
During the ceremony, Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama highlighted that the project has demonstrated values as integral to behavior, upbringing, and identity. He noted the participation of all private schools and kindergartens, showcasing exemplary integrated educational work in collaboration with national partners from 20 ministries and institutions. He emphasized the importance of honoring loyal partners, distinguished schools, diligent students, and supportive parents, acknowledging their role in the project’s success.
The event featured a patriotic poem recited by student Mubarakah Al Marri, which impressed the audience, and a video highlighting the importance of instilling values and ethics in students. Project ambassadors for the 2025-2026 academic year were introduced, with Dr. Rania Mohamed presenting the “My Values Shape My Identity” charter to ambassadors from private schools. This marks a first-of-its-kind initiative this year.
Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama and Dr. Rania Mohamed also honored the Tarbeya Center for Future Leaders, the project’s strategic partner, along with local partners from participating ministries and institutions. Private schools that contributed significantly to the project’s implementation last year were recognized.
A three-year plan for the project has been developed, starting this year, encompassing core and sub-values. The performance of private schools is assessed annually based on their contribution to promoting national identity, with honors awarded in platinum, gold, silver, or bronze shields according to participation. This initiative reflects the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s vision to enhance national identity and Qatari culture through education, demonstrating a commitment to instilling educational values in students.
