Kinshasa: Health authorities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) announced that the death toll from the Ebola virus has risen to 1,405. The authorities said that the total number of confirmed Ebola cases has reached 3,200, including 1,405 deaths.
According to Qatar News Agency, as part of the efforts to combat the latest rare strain of the Ebola virus, the World Health Organization (WHO) previously announced the start of clinical trials for two treatments, in addition to granting emergency use authorization for the first molecular diagnostic test specifically designed to detect it.
The Democratic Republic of Congo declared the outbreak of the seventeenth Ebola outbreak in the country on May 15.
