Beirut: The Democratic Republic of the Congo: The Ministry of Health in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) announced that the number of confirmed Ebola cases in the country has risen to 782, with 181 deaths.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry indicated that 72 new cases of the virus were recorded in the past 24 hours. On May 17, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda a public health emergency, warning that it poses a risk to other countries.
The WHO assesses the risk of the virus spreading regionally as high.
