Jerusalem: Dozens of colonists stormed Wednesday the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the Israeli occupation police.
According to Qatar News Agency, dozens of colonists entered the area in successive groups through the Mughrabi Gate and conducted Talmudic rituals in the mosque’s courtyards.
Qatar News Agency reported that the occupation police increased their presence at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque and around the Old City. They also obstructed the entry of worshipers into the mosque, adding to the tensions in the area. The frequency of these incidents has been notable, with colonists having stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque 256 times in 2024 alone.
Since the onset of the ongoing conflict, which includes actions described as genocide by the Israeli occupation against the Gaza Strip and aggression in the West Bank, the Israeli occupation forces have intensified measures at the mosque gates and the entrance gates to the Old City. The increased security measures have further complicated access for worshipers and heightened the atmosphere of tension around the historic site.
