Dollar Remains Unchanged While Yen Sees Slight Recovery

Tokyo: The dollar remained unchanged on Monday, while the Japanese yen recovered slightly after the sharp decline it experienced at the end of last week, as markets focused on the timing of any potential interest rate hikes in Japan and the possibility of authorities intervening to support the currency.

The dollar index, which measures the performance of the US currency against a basket of other currencies, remained steady at 98.03. The euro held at 1.1770 dollars, while the British pound slipped slightly to 1.3491 dollars.

The Australian dollar was largely unchanged at 0.6717 per US dollar, and the New Zealand dollar fell 0.2 percent to 0.582 per US dollar.
