Kuwait city: HE Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID) Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi affirmed the Center's commitment to contributing to international efforts aimed at promoting dialogue, understanding, and cooperation among followers of various religions and cultures. The initiative seeks to explore new horizons for joint work between religious institutions, aiming to serve societies and promote social peace and human cohesion.

According to Qatar News Agency, this statement was made during DICID's participation in a high-level international workshop titled 'From Interfaith Dialogue to Multi-Faith Engagement: A Strategic Partnership to Transform Interfaith Dialogue.' The workshop is being hosted by the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies in the United Kingdom, bringing together an elite group of global religious, intellectual, and academic leaders, as well as decision-makers.

HE Chairman of DICID's Board of Directors explained that the workshop focuses on the transformations occurring in interfaith dialogue. It aims to shift the focus from mutual understanding and exchanging visions to building practical and sustainable partnerships between religious communities. This is to be achieved through mutual trust, joint work, and cooperation in addressing contemporary humanitarian challenges.

Dr. Al Nuaimi further noted that the workshop will review strategic issues related to the future of cooperation between religious communities. These include building global networks of religious and intellectual leaders, promoting religious freedom, supporting civil society institutions, developing young leaders, religious education and culture programs, and responding jointly to humanitarian issues. Additionally, the workshop will consider the impact of rapid technological transformations, particularly AI, on religious communities and future interfaith relations.

DICID's participation is part of its ongoing effort to engage in international dialogues focused on enhancing dialogue and cooperation between followers of religions. This participation aims to enhance the contribution of religious institutions in addressing common global challenges.

For his part, Dr. Hamed Al Marwani, a member of the DICID delegation participating in the workshop, stated that this involvement aligns with DICID's mission to consolidate the culture of dialogue, understanding, and peaceful coexistence. It also aims to enhance the role of dialogue and cooperation among followers of religions in supporting social peace and serving humanity amid global changes and common challenges facing contemporary societies.

The workshop discussions are based on the vision that religious and cultural diversity offers a source of human enrichment and opportunities for cooperation and integration. Building genuine and sustainable relationships between followers of religions is viewed as essential for strengthening mutual trust and launching joint initiatives that address pressing global issues and consolidate values of human dignity and mutual respect.

The workshop is anticipated to produce strategic visions for enhancing cooperation between religious communities at local, regional, and international levels. It aims to develop practical frameworks for sustainable partnerships between religious, academic, and civil institutions to support the contribution of religious leaders in addressing common challenges and building a more stable and cooperative future among peoples and cultures.
