Doha: HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani met with HE Minister of Defence of Malaysia Mohamed Khaled Nordin and his accompanying delegation during his official visit to the State of Qatar. The meeting resulted in the signing of several agreements aimed at enhancing defense cooperation between the two countries.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ministers signed agreements between the Qatari and Malaysian Ministries of Defense, focusing on technology, information exchange, and the development of domestic industrial capabilities. A notable deal was established between Barzan Holdings and Malaysia’s Ingress Corporation Berhad, indicating a significant step in technological collaboration.
The agreement for the Qatari side was signed by CEO of Barzan Holdings Mohammed Badr Al Sada, while Managing Director of Ingress Corporation Berhad Mohd Sirajuddean Ab Rahim represented the Malaysian side. The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials, including HE Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohammed Al Mannai, and HE Chief of Defence Forces of Malaysia, General Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar, along with several other officers from both nations.
In addition to the formal discussions, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs hosted a luncheon banquet to honor the visiting Malaysian Minister of Defence and his delegation, further solidifying diplomatic ties and fostering goodwill between the two countries.
