Department of Meteorology Warns of Thunder Rain, Strong Wind

Doha: The Department of Meteorology has forecast hazy and cloudy to partly cloudy weather on Sunday, with a chance of scattered rain at night, warning of expected thunder rain at places at first associated with strong wind.

According to Qatar News Agency, offshore conditions will also be hazy and cloudy, with a possibility of scattered rain that may turn thundery initially, before becoming fine later. The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning about expected thundery rain at first, along with strong wind and high sea conditions.

Inshore winds are predicted to be northwesterly to northerly at 8-18 knots, occasionally gusting to 28 knots. Offshore winds will primarily be northwesterly at 10-18 knots, reaching up to 27 knots. The sea conditions inshore are expected to range between 2 and 4 feet, rising to 5 feet at times, while offshore conditions will range between 3 and 5 feet, rising to 8 feet.

Visibility is anticipated to range between 4 and 9 km inshore and offshore, with some areas experiencing visibility as low as 3 km.
