Department of Meteorology Warns of Strong Wind Inshore and Offshore

Doha: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning for strong inshore winds in certain areas during the daytime.

According to Qatar News Agency, the department's daily weather report indicates that inshore conditions until 6:00 p.m. will start hazy to misty, with mild temperatures and blowing dust in some areas, along with scattered clouds that may become partly cloudy. Offshore, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy with a chance of scattered rain, potentially thundery in northern areas, accompanied by warnings of strong wind, high seas, and thunder rain in those regions.

Inshore, winds will be southeasterly-southerly at speeds of 8-18 KT, reaching up to 25 KT in certain areas during the daytime. Offshore winds will initially be southeasterly at 8-18 KT, increasing to 12-22 KT, with gusts up to 28 KT in some locations.

Sea conditions inshore are expected to range between 2-4 feet, while offshore seas will range from 3-5 feet, rising to 4-7/9 feet in some areas. Visibility inshore is anticipated to range between 5-9/3 km or less at times, while offshore visibility will vary between 4-9/3 km or less, particularly with thundery rain.
