Department of Meteorology Warns of Strong Wind, High Sea Tonight

Doha: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning regarding the weather conditions expected to prevail until 6:00 am on Wednesday. Inshore areas will experience local cloud formations accompanied by thunder rain initially, transitioning to hazy and misty conditions in certain locations by late night. The department has cautioned that thundery rain may occur alongside strong winds in some areas at first.

According to Qatar News Agency, offshore areas are predicted to have scattered clouds with potential rainfall in certain spots initially. There is an alert for strong winds and high seas in specific offshore locations. Wind patterns inshore are expected to be northwesterly to northeasterly, ranging from 05 to 15 knots, but may reach 25 knots in areas affected by thunder rain.

Offshore winds are forecasted to be northeasterly, blowing at 05 to 15 knots and gusting up to 22 knots in some locations. The sea state inshore is projected to vary between 1 to 3 feet, potentially increasing to 5 feet in certain areas, while offshore conditions may range from 2 to 4 feet initially, rising to 7 feet in some locations.

Visibility inshore is expected to range from 4 to 8/3 kilometers, possibly reducing further in some areas. Offshore visibility will similarly be between 5 to 10 kilometers.
