Department of Meteorology Warns of Poor Horizontal Visibility Due to Fog

Doha: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning regarding weather conditions expected to impact visibility in certain areas. According to the department's daily weather report, the inshore weather will remain humid and hazy until 6:00 am on Sunday. As the day progresses, conditions are anticipated to become misty to foggy, leading to reduced horizontal visibility at various locations.

According to Qatar News Agency, offshore conditions are expected to start as hazy, transitioning to misty and foggy at select locations later in the day. Similar warnings have been issued concerning poor horizontal visibility in these areas.

The report indicates that inshore winds will vary, predominantly from the east at speeds between 3 and 13 knots. Offshore, winds will shift primarily from the northeast to the southeast, maintaining the same speed range.

Sea conditions are expected to remain relatively calm, with inshore sea states ranging from 1 to 2 feet and offshore conditions estimated at 1 to 3 feet. Visibility inshore is predicted to fluctuate between 4 to 8 kilometers, potentially dropping to 2 kilometers or less in certain areas. Offshore visibility is expected to range from 4 to 9 kilometers, with a possibility of decreasing to 1 kilometer or less in some locations.

This weather advisory highlights the importance of taking necessary precautions, especially for those traveling or operating in affected areas.
