Gaza City: The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip risen to 50,886, with 115,875 people injured since October 7, 2023.
According to Qatar News Agency, Palestinian medical sources reported that 40 people were killed and 146 others wounded in the past 24 hours alone.
Since the Israeli offensive resumed on March 18, following a two-month ceasefire, at least 1,522 Palestinians have been killed and 3,834 injured.
The sources noted that many victims remain trapped under the rubble or lie in the streets, unreachable by emergency and civil defense crews due to ongoing bombardment and unsafe conditions.
Israel resumed its military assault on Gaza on March 18, despite a ceasefire agreement that had been in effect since January 19.
Over the two-month truce, Israel occupation repeatedly violated the agreement by continuing airstrikes across various parts of the Strip, causing casualties and destruction. The humanitarian protocol was ignored, and the already crippling blockade was further tightened, plunging the Gaza Strip into an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.
