Doha: The Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) and the Qatar Foundation for Social Work have entered into a funding agreement to enhance the Vocational Rehabilitation Program at the Al Shafallah Center. Through this strategic partnership, DAAM aims to provide financial support to establish a structured program that offers accredited, competency-based vocational pathways tailored for individuals with disabilities.
According to Qatar News Agency, the initiative is crafted to develop practical and professional skills, bolster participants' readiness for the labor market, and align training outcomes with tangible employment opportunities. The program is specifically designed for Al Shafallah Center members aged 15-20, operating through two distinct tracks. The first track targets individuals with mild to moderate disabilities, providing them with specialized professional qualifications that meet the demands of Qatar's labor market. The second track focuses on supporting persons with severe intellectual disabilities by fostering essential workplace readiness, independence, and social adaptation skills. Additionally, the program incorporates capacity-building for Center staff to ensure effective delivery of training tailored to each participant's needs.
Fatima Al Saadi, Executive Director of Al Shafallah Center, expressed gratitude for the collaboration, emphasizing its significance as a strategic advancement in strengthening vocational rehabilitation services and enhancing outcomes for persons with disabilities. She highlighted the importance of empowering individuals by investing in their potential and offering genuine opportunities to acquire skills necessary for meaningful contributions to national development. Al Saadi also mentioned that the program embraces a comprehensive approach, which includes assessing participants' abilities and interests, developing personalized training plans, and collaborating with public and private sector partners to secure suitable employment for graduates.
Yousef Al Nuaimi, Director of Shared Services at DAAM, stressed the Fund's role in supporting practical empowerment initiatives. He stated that meaningful vocational programs are vital for opening opportunities for persons with disabilities in the labor market and that DAAM's support for Al Shafallah Center's program represents a significant step towards fostering a generation that can rely on its own abilities and contribute actively to national development.
This agreement is part of DAAM's broader mission, supported by contributions from listed companies on the Qatar Stock Exchange, to advance social development and sustainable initiatives in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.
