Abidjan: The Government of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire has entered into a framework agreement with Qatar Charity (QC) in the economic capital, Abidjan. This agreement is aimed at enhancing collaboration and supporting efforts toward sustainable development.
According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement was signed by HE Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Diaspora of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, Kacou Houadja Leon Adom, and the director of Qatar Charity’s Abidjan office, Ridha Mabrouk. The event was attended by HE Qatar’s Ambassador to Cote d’Ivoire, Mubarak bin Hussein Al Marri.
The framework agreement is part of the Government of Cote d’Ivoire’s strategy to engage international organizations in supporting its national economic and social development policies. This initiative underscores the mutual intent of Qatar Charity and the Ivorian government to collaborate in supporting humanitarian and development efforts across various sectors and promoting social care for individuals and commu
nities.
The agreement is expected to facilitate Qatar Charity’s operations within Cote d’Ivoire, supporting projects in collaboration with relevant entities. It provides Qatar Charity with tax and customs exemptions necessary for implementing its humanitarian and development initiatives, aligning with the country’s economic and social development goals.
Qatar Charity has a global presence with more than 33 offices or partnerships with local partners. It has been actively involved in humanitarian and development work in Cote d’Ivoire since 2020, concentrating on sectors such as education, healthcare, water and sanitation, food security, social empowerment, and social care.
