Doha: HE Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, has called for a united Arab and Islamic approach to combat Israeli expansionist policies and the illusion of regional dominance.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Alimi emphasized in his address at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit that this comprehensive approach should focus on three main axes. The first is achieving a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, rooted in international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
He highlighted the second axis as bolstering national institutions across political, economic, and security sectors, and uniting efforts to fight armed terrorist groups. The third axis involves deterring rogue states with expansionist ambitions, particularly Israel, and enhancing Arab and Islamic integration.
Al-Alimi stressed that maintaining the sovereignty of stable nations and advancing towards an independent Palestinian state requires collective support for “fragile states.” He mentioned that the ongoing genocide in Gaza and attacks on regional countries without accountability have emboldened Israeli aggression, including an attack on Qatar.
He further noted that the geopolitical challenges present today demonstrate that expansionist regional states and armed groups are intertwined, each justifying the other’s expansion and striving to destabilize nation-states and incite regional conflict.
Al-Alimi commended the achievements of Arab diplomacy, particularly under the leadership of Saudi Arabia, which have led to a significant political shift towards international recognition of Palestine. He reiterated Yemen’s endorsement of the historic UN General Assembly resolution supporting the two-state solution and expressed full support for mediation efforts by Qatar, in collaboration with Egypt and the United States, to halt the conflict in Gaza.
