CENTCOM Announces Completion of Strikes on Targets in Iran

Dubai: The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the US military has completed additional defensive strikes against multiple targets in Iran. CENTCOM confirmed that the operations were in response to what it described as Iranian threats against US forces and international commercial vessels transiting regional waters.

According to Qatar News Agency, CENTCOM stated that US forces targeted Iranian military surveillance capabilities, communications systems, and air defense sites in various parts of Iran. The actions were aimed at countering threats and ensuring the safety of maritime navigation in the region.

CENTCOM denied Iran's claims regarding the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that commercial vessels continue to transit the strait in both directions normally. The statement emphasized the strategic importance of the waterway for international trade and energy supply.

In contrast, Iran's military command announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to all types of vessels, including oil tankers and commercial ships. Iran warned that any vessel attempting to transit the waterway would be targeted, escalating concerns over the stability of the region's shipping lanes.
