Breaking: Brazil’s President Warns That UN Authority is Under Threat

Doha: Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said that the United Nations, which was created to express the aspirations for peace and prosperity, is now facing a threat unprecedented in its history, as multilateralism is at a new crossroads, and the authority of the United Nations is at stake. This came in the Brazilian President’s speech before the high-level General Debate of the UN General Assembly’s 80th session, currently being held in New York.

According to Qatar News Agency, President Lula emphasized that the failure of the international community to defend peace, sovereignty, and the rule of law leads to tragic consequences. He stressed that peace cannot be achieved with impunity, highlighting the pressing need for the international community to uphold these fundamental principles to prevent further erosion of the UN’s authority.
