The Basra Police carried out a security campaign to limit weapons to the state, in the north of the province.
The media of the Basra Police Command stated in a statement today, that: “In implementation of the directives of the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, to enhance community security and enforce the law and within the major campaign to limit weapons to the state, and under the supervision of the Basra Governorate Police Commander, the police command detachments carried out a security exercise in cooperation with detachments from the army and the security services within the sector of the Karma Ali area, north of Basra, during which residential areas were searched and a number of temporary checkpoints and ambushes were set up, which resulted in the arrest of a number of judicial wanted persons and unlicensed weapons.
