The Kurdistan region's security service, (the Asayish), announced today, Friday, the arrest of a wanted terrorist in an area near Chamchamal district of Sulaymaniyah.
The Kurdistan region's security service said in a statement, "Intelligence information was received from the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service, about a suspect wanted by the Iraqi judiciary in accordance with Article 4 terrorism, indicating that the accused is in the Kurdistan region with the aim of hiding from the eyes of the Iraqi security services."
It added that "the detachments of the Security Service Operations Directorate immediately began collecting information about the accused after obtaining judicial approvals, and were able, during a tight security operation carried out in Chamchamal district, to arrest the terrorist in cooperation with the Asayish detachments west of Sulaymaniyah, and hand him over to the judiciary."
