Algiers: Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Attaf discussed Monday with his Belgian counterpart, Maxime Prevost, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation as well as several regional and international issues, most notably the Palestinian issue, the situation in the Sahel region, and the Russian-Ukrainian war.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the two sides emphasized the importance of taking practical steps to advance bilateral relations. They also highlighted the need to strengthen communication between the two countries’ economic sectors to explore partnership opportunities, particularly in the fields of renewable energy, transportation, mining, food industries, and pharmaceutical products.
On multilateral matters, the discussions also covered the partnership between Algeria and the EU. The ministers focused on joint efforts to support peace, security, and sustainable development in the Euro-Mediterranean space.
