Al Sharaa Explores Investment Opportunities in Syria at Riyadh Conference

Riyadh: The amendments to the investment legislation in Syria have brought investments worth USD 28 billion during the first six months of 2025, said Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa. Addressing a session within the Future Investment Initiative Conference 2025, currently convened in Riyadh, Al Sharaa affirmed that Syria is open to international firms and has called on global investors to contribute to the development path, given the recent amendments to the investment law.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Sharaa added that numerous partnerships have been forged with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, and Turkiye, alongside investment ventures with Bahrain and Jordan, as well as US firms that have tapped into investment and other regional partnerships.

There is a desire to rebuild Syria through investment, not through aid, since the nation positions itself as a significant strategic location in the region, a gateway to the East throughout history and a known liberation route that abounds with diverse resources and an economy that doesn’t bet on a single sector, he noted.

Al Sharaa further pointed out that Syria will be placed in a balanced economic posture both on the regional and global stages, at the pinnacle of major economies in the years ahead.
