The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity discussed, with the head of the Audit Bureau, “Khaled Shakshak”, on Tuesday, in Tripoli, the two files of government spending and ensuring transparency and fairness of distribution.

This came during the meeting held at the Audit Bureau headquarters, in the presence of the Bureau’s Undersecretary, Alaa Al-Masallati, and the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Adel Jumaa.

The meeting focused on discussing mechanisms for activating the public bid for medicines and medical supplies, implementing the new schools project and supporting the General Electricity Company, with the aim of stabilizing the network, increasing production and facing the summer peak.

The two sides agreed to hold a meeting with the Ministry of Health, the Medical Supply Authority and the Ministry of Finance, to start implementing the public bid, which has been delayed since 2009, as a step to correct the conditions of the health sector in Libya.

The two sides also agreed on the need to qualify national companies capable of implementing the project to establish new schools, and stressed the need for integration between the state’s executive and oversight institutions, to ensure the provision of good services to citizens and reduce corruption, and to promote the principle of disclosure and transparency in all procedures.
