5-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Peru

Lima: An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale struck Peru on Monday. The earthquake occurred 31 km from the Vilcanchos area, at a depth of 94.5 km, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

According to Qatar News Agency, Peru experiences an average of at least 400 earthquakes annually due to its location along the Pacific Ring of Fire. This seismic activity is a common occurrence in the region, highlighting the geological volatility that affects the country and its surroundings.
