Lampung: An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale struck Lampung Province in Indonesia Thursday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency said in a statement that the earthquake was located 22 km north of the province, at a depth of 184 km.
There have been no reports of casualties or material damage from the earthquake so far.
Indonesia is regularly exposed to earthquakes, as it is located on the Pacific Belt known as the Ring of Fire, where many tectonic plates meet and cause frequent volcanic and seismic activity.
