2 Killed in Northern Italy Avalanches

Northern italy: Two people were killed in several avalanches in northern Italy.

According to Qatar News Agency, Italy's Spound Alpine rescue service reported that an avalanche claimed the life of one person in the Merano 2000 ski and hiking area in South Tyrol.

Another avalanche occurred in the Aosta Valley on the border with Switzerland, where rescue teams recovered the body of a skier buried under snow at an altitude of 3,000 meters near Val d'Ayas. Heavy snowfall and rain in recent days have created a highly dangerous avalanche situation in the Alpine winter sports regions.

Austria, France, Switzerland, and northern Italy have reported numerous deaths caused by severe avalanches.
